John Wayne Casserole Recipe

Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 can Diced Green Chiles
  • 1 cup Bisquick Mix
  • ½ cup Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 large Tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup Onion, diced
  • 1 cup Bell Pepper, diced

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning to the beef according to the packet instructions.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Set aside.
  5. In another bowl, mix Bisquick, water, and eggs until smooth. Pour into a greased baking dish.
  6. Layer the cooked beef over the Bisquick mixture.
  7. Spread the sour cream mixture over the beef layer.
  8. Top with diced green chiles, sliced tomatoes, diced onions, and bell peppers.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
