  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and honey. Stir until the honey is dissolved.
  2. 2. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes, until foamy.
  3. 3. Add the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, olive oil, and salt to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. 7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. 8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
