Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 jar Grape leaves rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup Rice uncooked
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 1 bunch Parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ½ cup Olive oil divided
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 large Lemon sliced

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine rice, ground beef, onion, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  2. 2. Lay a grape leaf flat, shiny side down. Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of the leaf.
  3. 3. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll up tightly.
  4. 4. Place the rolled leaves in a large pot, seam side down. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
  5. 5. Drizzle half of the olive oil over the grape leaves. Add water to the pot until the leaves are just covered.
  6. 6. Place lemon slices on top and drizzle with remaining olive oil.
  7. 7. Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for about 1 hour, or until the leaves are tender and the filling is cooked through.
