Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Whole milk
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- ¾ cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 4 Egg yolks
1. In a saucepan, heat the milk and cream over medium heat until just simmering.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and egg yolks until pale and thick.
3. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
6. Let the mixture cool, then refrigerate until completely chilled.
7. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
8. Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.
