Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled, cored, and chopped pears

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, oil, and vanilla extract. Stir into the dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in the pears.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
