Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Butter softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Fresh figs chopped

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. Fold in the chopped figs. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
