Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 lb Ground Pork
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 cups Mashed Potatoes prepared

Pastry

  • 2 discs Pie Crust store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork, ground beef, and onion over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add the water, salt, pepper, cloves, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in the mashed potatoes and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Line a pie dish with one of the pie crusts. Fill with the meat mixture, then cover with the second pie crust. Seal and flute the edges, and cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
