Ingredients

Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoon ice water

Filling

  • 4 apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon apricot jam warmed

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. 3. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Form into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. 4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan. Trim the edges.
  5. 5. Arrange the apple slices in a circular pattern over the crust. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  6. 6. Bake for 45 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
  7. 7. Brush the warm apricot jam over the apples for a glossy finish. Let cool before serving.
