Instructions
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Rub the rib roast with olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Place the roast in a roasting pan, bone-side down.
Roast for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C).
Continue roasting for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
Let the roast rest for 15 minutes before carving.
