English Trifle Recipe
A classic English dessert with layers of sponge cake, custard, fruit, and whipped cream.

Main Ingredients
- 1 pound sponge cake cut into cubes
- 2 cups custard
- 2 cups mixed berries fresh or frozen
- 1 cup whipped cream
- ¼ cup sherry optional
1. Layer half of the sponge cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle dish.
2. Drizzle with half of the sherry, if using.
3. Spread half of the custard over the cake.
4. Add a layer of mixed berries.
5. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, sherry, custard, and berries.
6. Top with whipped cream.
7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
