Egyptian Koshari Recipe
A traditional Egyptian dish made with rice, lentils, pasta, and a spicy tomato sauce.

Main Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1 cup brown lentils
- 1 cup small pasta (like ditalini or elbow)
- 2 large onions sliced thin
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
Tomato Sauce
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
2. In a separate pot, cook the lentils until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
3. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
4. In a frying pan, heat the vegetable oil and fry the onions until crispy and brown. Set aside.
5. In a pot, combine the tomato sauce, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
6. To assemble, layer the rice, lentils, and pasta on a plate. Top with tomato sauce and crispy onions.
