Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix plus ingredients listed on the box
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly on the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and pour over the coconut and pecans.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and melted butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until creamy.
  5. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter, spreading it out as evenly as possible.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes or until the cake is set. The top will be cracked and uneven.
  7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan before serving.
