Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Duck Breast skin on
  • 1 cup Blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme fresh, chopped
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Instructions 

  1. Score the skin of the duck breasts and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and place the duck breasts skin-side down. Cook until the skin is crispy, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Flip the duck breasts and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Remove from skillet and let rest.
  4. In a saucepan, combine blackberries, honey, balsamic vinegar, and thyme. Cook over medium heat until the blackberries break down and the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
  5. Slice the duck breasts and serve with the blackberry compote.
