Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until softened.
Add ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Layer with uncooked lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, and meat sauce. Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce.
Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.
