Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chopped dates
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 egg Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Chopped nuts
  • 1 ½ cups All-purpose flour

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add date mixture and stir well.
  4. Stir in flour and nuts until just combined. Pour into loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
