Ingredients 

Custard Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk until it starts to steam.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar and cornstarch.
  3. Add egg yolks to the sugar mixture and whisk until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the hot milk to the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  5. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Let cool before using as a cake filling.
