  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 cup raisins optional

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Place bread cubes in the dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, salt, and nutmeg.
  5. Pour mixture over bread cubes.
  6. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle raisins on top if using.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes or until set.
