Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended.
  5. Mix in the oats, chocolate chips, and pecans.
  6. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are nicely browned.
