Ingredients 

Batter

  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 8 Hot dogs
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in milk and beaten egg until smooth.
  4. Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs.
  5. Dip hot dogs into batter, coating well.
  6. Fry 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
