Ingredients 

Cake

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed

Frosting

  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Fold in crushed Oreo cookies.
  5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  6. For the frosting, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  7. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread with some of the whipped cream. Top with second cake layer. Frost top and sides with remaining whipped cream. Garnish with additional crushed Oreos if desired.
