Concord Grape Pie Recipe

Ingredients 

Pie Crust

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cold butter cut into small pieces
  • ¼ cup Ice water

Filling

  • 4 cups Concord grapes stems removed
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and cold butter. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Add ice water gradually until the dough forms. Divide into two balls, wrap in plastic, and chill.
  4. In a saucepan, cook grapes over medium heat until soft. Press through a sieve to remove seeds.
  5. Return grape pulp to the saucepan, add sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Cook until thickened.
  6. Roll out one dough ball and place in a pie dish. Pour in the grape filling.
  7. Roll out the second dough ball and place on top. Seal edges and cut slits for steam.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before serving.
