Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, ½ cup of sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough in the baking dish.
Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it over the cream cheese mixture.
In a small bowl, mix the remaining ½ cup of sugar and ground cinnamon.
Brush the melted butter over the top layer of dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.
