Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into small pieces
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk

Filling

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate chopped
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and sugar. Add cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together. Press the dough into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes. Let it cool.
  4. For the filling, heat the cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  5. Add butter and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture and stir until combined. Pour the filling into the cooled crust.
  6. Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours before serving.
