Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Cocoa Powder
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it begins to steam.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually add the hot milk to the sugar mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the custard into serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
