Ingredients 

Tart Crust

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg beaten

Cherry Filling

  • 4 cups fresh cherries pitted
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly. Add beaten egg and mix until dough forms.
  3. Press dough into tart pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Let cool.
  4. In another bowl, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Pour into tart crust.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until filling is bubbly and crust is golden.
  6. Let cool before serving.
