  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Cherries, pitted and halved
  • 0.5 cup Almonds, sliced
  • 0.5 cup Butter, softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing just until incorporated.
  5. Fold in the cherries and almonds. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool before serving.
