A classic dessert made with cherries and liqueur, flambéed and served over vanilla ice cream.

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups pitted cherries
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup kirsch or brandy
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoon water
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
1. In a skillet, combine cherries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch mixed with water. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens and the cherries are tender.
2. Remove the skillet from heat and add the kirsch or brandy. Carefully ignite the alcohol with a lighter or match.
3. Let the flames subside, then spoon the cherries and sauce over vanilla ice cream.
