Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 pcs jalapeños, diced
  • 1 large egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and shape into a pretzel.
  5. Place pretzels on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with cheddar cheese and diced jalapeños.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
