Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder cut into strips
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, Chinese rice wine, oyster sauce, sesame oil, five-spice powder, garlic, and red food coloring (if using).
  2. 2. Add pork strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. 3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. 4. Place the marinated pork on a baking tray lined with foil. Bake for 40-45 minutes, basting occasionally with the remaining marinade.
  5. 5. Once cooked, let the pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
