Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 head Cauliflower cut into florets
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese cheddar or gruyere
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg optional

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to stir until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the shredded cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using).
  6. Place the steamed cauliflower in a baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over it.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
