Ingredients 

Shells

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup Marsala wine
  • 1 unit egg lightly beaten
  • 1 unit egg white for sealing

Filling

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese drained
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. 2. Add Marsala wine and egg. Mix until dough forms. Knead until smooth. Wrap in plastic and let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. 3. Roll dough thin. Cut into circles. Wrap around cannoli tubes, sealing edges with egg white.
  4. 4. Fry in hot oil until golden. Remove and let cool.
  5. 5. For filling, mix ricotta, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. 6. Fill cooled shells with ricotta mixture. Serve immediately.
