Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 Apples medium-sized
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ teaspoon Red Food Coloring optional

Instructions 

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Insert skewers into the stem end of each apple.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Boil the mixture until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring, if using.
  5. Dip each apple into the syrup, turning to coat evenly. Allow excess to drip off.
  6. Place coated apples on a greased baking sheet to cool and harden.
