Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk room temperature

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
