  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoon unsalted butter, cold cut into small pieces
  • ¾ cup buttermilk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the buttermilk and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm.
