Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans toasted and chopped
  • ½ cup butter unsalted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved.
  3. Add the heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  4. Let the mixture cool, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  6. Fold in the toasted pecans. Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze until firm.
