- 200 g unsalted butter softened
- 200 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg beaten, for brushing
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
Press the dough into a greased 9-inch round cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Brush the top with the beaten egg.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Let it cool in the pan before slicing and serving.
