Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine optional
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. 2. Season the short ribs generously with salt and pepper.
  3. 3. Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the short ribs on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. 4. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. 5. Stir in the tomato paste, then add the beef broth and red wine. Bring to a simmer.
  6. 6. Return the short ribs to the pot, cover, and transfer to the preheated oven. Cook for about 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
  7. 7. Serve the short ribs with the sauce from the pot. Enjoy!
