Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, and cinnamon stick.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture thickens, about 30-40 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Can be served warm or chilled.
