Apple Pie Bars Recipe

Ingredients 

Crust

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 4 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Topping

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar for the crust. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg for the filling. Spread over the crust.
  4. For the topping, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apple filling.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Let cool before cutting into bars.
