Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 2 cups apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, toss the apple slices with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Place the apple mixture down the center of the dough.
  6. Fold the sides of the dough over the apples, sealing the edges. Place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
