Main Ingredients
- 1 cup Cake Flour
- 1.5 cups Granulated Sugar divided
- 12 Egg Whites room temperature
- 1.5 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Sift the cake flour and ¾ cup of the sugar together. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form.
Gradually add the remaining sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Add vanilla extract and salt.
Gently fold in the flour mixture, ¼ cup at a time, until fully incorporated.
Spoon the batter into an ungreased tube pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the cake springs back when touched lightly.
Invert the pan and let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
